Pornography (from the Greek πορνη “prostitute” and γραφία “written thing”) (in informal conversation often porn) is the representation of the human body or sexual acts in order to provoke sexual arousal. It is very similar but also a lot different from erotica, although the two terms are often used as synonyms.
In general, the term “eroticism” is used to emphasize artistic quality, sensuality, or implied sexuality, while the term “pornography” most commonly refers to explicit sexual acts. The line between “erotica” and “pornography” is often very subjective and the first term is more often used in a more positive sense, while “pornography” generally has more negative connotations.
Dialogues are generally kept to a minimum and are a function of sexual intercourse. The foreplay begins with a mutual expression of desire, followed by fellatio and cunnilingus (sometimes at the same time in a pose known as 69). Foreplay is followed by sexual intercourse, the actors of which, due to the need for the film’s attractiveness, unlike intimate sexual intercourse, often change poses, making love in various possible places. Sexual intercourse always ends with male ejaculation on a woman’s body. The credibility of the film largely depends on the intensity of male ejaculation, because it is one of the rare physical manifestations of sexual climax that cannot be acted out, not only in the film but also in real life. In contrast to the male orgasm, the orgasm of the actress is much harder to record on the film, which is why she evokes her sexual climax with intense body movements and strong sighs.
Porn movies are conceived in such a way that they aim to release the imagination, in no way to cause frustration in the viewer. Everything must look simple and natural, taking into account the imagination of the one who watches such films. However, given the growing repression of sexuality in society, porn movies are gaining a whole new meaning. They become a substitute for physical contact and sexual intercourse with the opposite sex. An increasing number of people prefer the arousal provided by these films over the arousal they can feel during actual sexual intercourse. Therefore, these films, instead of contributing to the sexual education and liberation of the individual, increasingly have the opposite effect.
Pornography occurs in different types of media and images, written text and articles, photographs, sculptures, drawings, gifs, videos and images and sounds such as shortness of breath and sounds reminiscent of making love. Pornographic films, in the jargon of porn, combine colors and images, uttered erotic texts or other erotic sounds, while newspapers often combine photographs and written text. Novels and short stories give written text, sometimes with illustrations. A live performance can also be called pornographic.
